Smile, Darn Ya!

Kat was just about to enjoy a nice cup of tea, until Ruth barged in; she was acting all excited and at a loss for words. After Kat calms her down, Ruth reveals that she brought a guest, and it's Niele. Ruth explains that she's a character from a Brazilian comic, Holy Avenger, and how her cousin, Penny, would send her copies as gifts. Ruth met Niele at an RPG convention, and she asked Niele to sign her comics, to which she gladly accepted. Ruth ran to her bedroom to find her copies, and left Niele alone with Kat. Dismissing her as just a dedicated cosplayer, even though she is the REAL Niele, Kat asks her why she bothered to come all the way for Ruth. Niele answers that she would anything to make anyone happy, and smile. Kat finds that a bit odd, yet admirable, and offers her a cup of tea; Niele gladly accepts... wrong choice. Her tea was mixed with KO drug, and Niele was out cold... but not for too long. She awakes a few minutes later, strapped against one of Ruth's in-progress-inventions, with her own straps no less. Kat greets her with a "good morning!" Niele asks what's going on, and where Ruth is. Kat answers that Ruth is still looking for her comics and that while they wait, Kat will make Niele smile and laugh.

I wanted to go for a comic book feel for this, seeing that the character is from a comic book. A decent one, I should mention; give it a read.

Tried out some new shading technique for Niele's hair and straps, as I wanted to emulate 's style when he colored her. I must say that I like it, and may use it again for my girls. I also like the font I used for this, and may just use it from now on.
